Meditation in Everyday Life: A Class for Beginners
This class presents basic meditation instruction in Shamatha (calm-abiding) meditation, along with mindfulness and breath practices and tonglen. Ker will give talks on aspects of Buddhist philosophy relevant to integrating meditation practice and daily life.
Experiential assignments and discussions are also included in the class.
This is a non-religious introduction to meditation and Buddhist ideas.
All levels of experience are welcome. A willingness to commit to a daily meditation practice for 8 weeks is strongly encouraged.
Where: 1390 Oak St. #3 (upstairs), Eugene
When: Fridays 4-6 pm. 8 weeks: January 23 through March 13, 2009
Cost: $160
Class size is limited; $40 nonrefundable deposit holds your spot.
